| The Berwyn Fire Company, along with mutual aid from Paoli and Radnor, was dispatched to the 300 block of Old Lancaster Rd. in Easttown Township for a garage fire at 1:16 a.m.
Berwyn Assistant Chief Eamon Brazunas arrived on location with a 20' x 30' detached garage involved in fire. The crews of Engine 2-3 and Tower 2 began to contain the fire, while personnel from Paoli and Radnor assisted with extinguishment and overhaul operations.
The Chester County Fire Marshals Office investigated the cause of the blaze and determined it to be related to an electrical problem. The fire caused an estimated $30,000 in damages to the garage. Two nearby automobiles were also damaged from the radiant heat.
There were no reported firefighter or civilian injuries. All units were clear of the scene before 6 a.m.
Newtown Square Ladder 41, Valley Forge Engine 68-2 and Phoenixville Fire Dept. MICU 67-4 provided standby coverage for Berwyn during the fire. |
