TREDYFFRIN TWP.- The Berwyn Fire Company along with automatic mutual aid from Radnor and Paoli fire companies were alerted to a house fire in the 800 block of Cloverly Road at 9:57 a.m.

Shortly after Berwyn Engine 2-3 responded, the Tredyffrin Township Police Department was on location reporting the rear deck of the home on fire.

Engine 2-3 arrived on scene at 10:02 a.m. with smoke and fire showing from single family residence. The incident was upgraded to a confirmed working fire which called for additional resources from Malvern and Valley Forge fire companies to respond.

Once the bulk of the fire had been extinguished, firefighters checked the remainder of the house for extension in the walls and attic. The fire was brought under control by 10:35 a.m.

The Chester County Fire Marshal investigated the cause of the fire and ruled it accidental. The cause was related to hot ashes from a charcoal grill. Damage to the home is estimated around $150,000. There was no reported firefighter or civilian injuries.
