Room and Contents Fire in Devon Village

Berwyn Fire Company was dispatched to a report of a house fire on Devonwood Lane in Easttown Township on Saturday, October 8th at 2:35 p.m. Radnor (Engine) and Paoli (Tower) were also alerted. Several callers informed 911 of flames shooting out of the windows of a single family dwelling.

Paramedic Engine 2-3 arrived first and reported smoke showing from the rear of the residence. Chief 2 (Norris) arrived, assumed command and requested the Working Fire Dispatch which added Malvern for the Rapid Intervention Team (RIT) and Medic and Gladwyne for the Air Unit. Attack hoselines were advanced into the home and the Engine crew was able to extinguish the 1st floor fire within 25 minutes of the initial dispatch. The residence was unoccupied at the time of the fire.

There were no firefighter or civilian injuries. The Chester County Fire Marshal is investigating the cause of this fire.
