The Paoli Fire Company was dispatched at 7:12 p.m. to the 2000 block of Georgetown Drive in Tredyffrin Township for a house fire.

Based on several 9-1-1 callers reporting a house on fire in the neighborhood, Paoli Chief Ira Dutter requested additional resources from the Berwyn and Malvern fire companies at 7:15 p.m. to assist.

First arriving units encountered a 2 1/2 story single family dwelling with fire showing from the deck and rear of the home. Firefighters from Paoli, Berwyn and Malvern worked together to bring the fire under control by 7:46 p.m.

Firefighters performed overhaul throughout the home to ensure the fire was completely extinguished. Personal belongings were also pulled from the home for the family by first responders.

The Chester County Fire Marshal's Office investigated the cause of the fire, which appears to be accidental. The area outside under the rear deck is being looked at as the location of the origin of the fire. Damage was estimated at $375,000 to the residence.

The three occupants, who were home at the time the fire started, were able to escape safely. The Southeastern Pennsylvania Chapter of the American Red Cross responded to the scene and assisted the family with their needs.

Final units from Berwyn cleared the scene at 10:16 p.m. The Radnor Fire Company (Squad 15) covered the Berwyn fire station during the fire. During that time they responded to a street light fire at the intersection of Chesterbrook Blvd. and Lee Rd. in Tredyffrin Twp., while Berwyn EMS handled (3) medical calls.
