| The Radnor Fire Company, along with an Engine from the Berwyn Fire Company, was dispatched at 6:15 p.m. to the 600 block of Knox Rd. in Tredyffrin Township for a house fire. First arriving firefighters encountered fire in the walls of the 2 story single family home. Additional assistance was called from the Berwyn and Malvern fire companies by Radnor Chief Michael Maguire. PECO was also called for a rapid response since the fire was being fed by electricity coming into the home. Firefighters from Radnor and Berwyn worked together to extinguish the fire in less than a half hour. The home was occupied at the time of the fire. However, all residents were able to escape safely. The home was spared significant damage due to the quick actions of firefighters. Damage was contained to the walls and area around the electrical box of the home. All units were clear of the scene before 8 p.m. There was no reported firefighter or civilian injuries. The Chester County Fire Marshal's Office is investigating the cause of the fire. |
