The Berwyn Fire Company was dispatched to a house fire in the 400 block of Coldstream Drive in Tredyffrin Township at 2:37 p.m.

Berwyn Engine 2-3 arrived on location with smoke showing from the roof. Upon entry a fire was located in the attic of the residence. Mutual aid was requested to respond from Paoli, Malvern, Valley Forge, and Radnor.

The fire was placed under control by 2:58 p.m. Berwyn Chief Matthew Norris served as the Incident Commander. There was no reported firefighter or civilian injuries.

The Chester County Fire Marshal's Office investigated and traced the origin of the fire back to a light fixture in the bathroom. Damage is estimated between $15,000 and $20,000 to the home.

The home was spared significant damage due to the quick activation of 9-1-1 by a young resident and a swift fire company response. All units were clear of the scene by 4 p.m.

Berwyn personnel responded to (5) fire calls and (9) EMS calls in this 24 hour period on April 4th.
