| The Berwyn Fire Company, along with mutual aid assistance from the Paoli and Radnor fire companies, was dispatched at 9:14 p.m. to the 600 block of Lancaster Ave. in Easttown Township for an apartment building fire. Berwyn Engine 2-3 arrived first on scene with smoke showing from a 3rd story window above the Shady Dog Records. Firefighters worked quickly to extinguish the fire, which was placed under control by 9:37 p.m. The fire damage was contained to a window and portion of roof of the building. Lancaster Ave. was temporarily shut down between Midland Ave. and Waterloo Ave. There was no reported firefighter or civilian injuries. Final fire crews cleared the scene before 10:30 p.m. The Chester County Fire Marshals Office is investigating the cause of the blaze, which appears to be related to a nearby lighting strike. |
