Longtime Berwyn Fire Company member Fred F Nudy Jr., 64, died on September 16th 2013. Above and beyond his accomplishments listed in his obituary below, Fred was an active volunteer for many years on both the EMS and Fire Police divisions of our department. The members of the Berwyn Fire Company would like to extend our heartfelt condolences to the entire Nudy family in their time of loss.

Fred was the beloved husband of Pearl M. (nee Mathews) Nudy; father of Fred F. (Laura) Nudy, III and Karen (Shawn) Pecora; grandfather of Emily and Jack Nudy and Christopher and Dominick Pecora; and brother of Linda Nudy.
Fred F. Nudy, Jr., born and raised on the Main Line, loved and lived life large and to the fullest. He with his wife of 45 years, Pearl, raised their two children to love and respect the Lord and family.

He was a business owner, scout leader and a 17 year fire volunteer. He was a long-standing member of the Berwyn Devon Business Association. He was an avid hunter and conservationist and a life-time member of the N.R.A. A member of the Chesco Gun Club, joining at age 12 and remaining a member until death.

Fred was a combat wounded veteran of the Vietnam War. While serving his country with Mobile Construction Battalion 4 in DaNang, he received near fatal injuries on Memorial Day, May 30, 1969 for which he was awarded the Purple Heart. It was the seriousness of those injuries that would come to end his life.

He was a member of the Easttown Twp. Auxiliary Police Force for 25 years and also the Tredyffrin Township Auxiliary Police for 5 years.

He was proud and honored to serve on the committee for the development of
