Berwyn EMS Responds to Vehicle Rescue

TREDYFFRIN TWP., PA - The Paoli Fire Company, along with a Paramedic from Berwyn Fire Company was dispatched for a two-vehicle motor vehicle collision in the area of Rt. 252 and Hilltop Road in Tredyffrin Township.

The crash was reported to be head on with at least one person entrapped. Paoli Ambulance 3 arrived on location just after the Tredyffrin Twp. Police Dept. and confirmed a subject trapped with three others injured. Additional EMS units were requested from Berwyn, Malvern and Radnor to respond.

Paoli's Ambulance transported two patients to Paoli Hospital with non-life threatening injuries. Berwyn Ambulance 2-3 and Medic 2-2 transported a victim with moderate injuries to Paoli Hospital.

After nearly 45 minutes, the final patient was extricated by the crew of Paoli Engine 3-1 with assistance from Berwyn, Malvern and Radnor EMS crews. This patient was then transported to Paoli Hospital with life threatening injuries by Berwyn Ambulance 2-2/Paramedic 2-1 and Malvern Medic 4-1.

The collision closed Rt. 252 between W. Swedesford Road and Friendship Drive for an extended period of time so the Tredyffrin Twp. Police Dept. could conduct their investigation. Paoli and Berwyn Fire Police units assisted with the road closure.
