Firefighters were dispatched to a reported house fire on Avonwood Drive in Tredyffin Township around 6:45 a.m. Berwyn units were advised by the 9-1-1 Dispatcher there was a fire on the back upper deck of the residence and that neighbors were attempting to put out the fire with a garden hose.

Upon arrival a smoldering fire was discovered on the 1st and 2nd level of the deck. Firefighters utilized a hoseline to extinguish the hot spots and removed the burned sections of the deck with a chain saw. Additional personnel checked the interior of the home with a Thermal Imgaing Camera (TIC) to ensure the fire hadn't extended into the walls.
