The Berwyn Fire Company was dispatched at 10:52 a.m. to the 700 block of North Valley Forge Road in Tredyffrin Township for a motor vehicle collision. The initial 9-1-1 caller reported a car had left the roadway and struck a tree.

Fire/EMS personnel arrived to find a one vehicle collision with the driver injured. Due to the impact of the tree against the driver's side of the vehicle, rescue tools were used to remove the driver's side door so the victim could be safely extricated.

Berwyn EMS transported the sole occupant to Paoli Hospital, while the crew of Engine 2-2 stoodby on location until the vehicle could be removed.

All units were clear of the scene prior to 12 Noon. The Treyffrin Township Police Department was also on location and provided traffic control and investigated the cause of the collision. Valley Forge Road was closed between Timber Lane and Pugh Road during the incident.
