The Paoli Fire Company was dispatched at 12:17 a.m. to the 1400 block of Berwyn Paoli Road for a house fire. Paoli Chief Ira Dutter arrived on location with smoke showing from the residence and requested Berwyn Fire Company to respond with an Engine.

The crew of Berwyn Engine 2-3 assisted with establishing a water supply from a fire hydrant and then provided assistance with attacking the fire. Firefighters from Paoli, Berwyn and Malvern worked together for several hours on this stubborn and dangerous fire, where there was a partial collapse of the 1st floor. The fire was ultimately contained to the basement.

The Chester County Fire Marshal investigated the cause of the blaze. There was no reported firefighter or civilian injuries.
