EASTTOWN TWP., PA - First responders from the area descended on the Upper Main Line YMCA for the 13th Annual UMLY Emergency Services Day earlier this month. Through a joint effort of the Paoli and Berwyn fire companies this event has grown to involve several organizations over the years.

This unique event brings over 300 campers together to meet and learn about emergency services in their community. The activities included a vehicle rescue demonstration and touring fire trucks, ambulances, and police cars. There were also hands on opportunities for campers who learned how to use a fire hose and experience what is like to extinguish a small fire.

Without the participation of volunteers, career staff and police officers this event would not have been possible. The following organizations were represented at emergency services day from the Radnor Fire Co., Berwyn Fire Co., Paoli Fire Co., Malvern Fire Co., East Whiteland Fire Co., Valley Forge Vol. Fire Co., King of Prussia Vol. Fire Co., Newtown Square Fire Co., Easttown Township Police Department and the Tredyffrin Township Police Department.

Berwyn Fire Chief Eamon Brazunas extends his appreciation to all the organizations and their leadership in supporting this event, in which he has coordinated since his days as a summer camp counselor at the Y.
