Residents Escape Tredyffrin House Fire

The Berwyn Fire Company, along with mutual aid assistance from Paoli and Radnor fire companies, was dispatched at 4:04 p.m. to the 300 block of Bodine Road in Tredyffrin Township for a house fire. The homeowner reported smoke in their residence and that they were evacuating.

Berwyn Engine 2-1 arrived on location to find fire in the walls on the 1st floor of a single family residence. The walls on the inside and exterior were opened up to access the fire. Additional Berwyn, Paoli, and Radnor personnel worked together to extinguish the fire and limit major damage to the home. The fire was placed under control within 20 minutes.

The Chester County Fire Marshal's Office investigated the cause of the fire and ruled it accidental.Total smoke and fire damage was estimated at $30,000. No first responder or civilian injuries occurred during this incident. All units were clear of the scene before by 5:45 p.m.
