On June 1, 2016, Berwyn Fire Company Volunteer Firefighters Ryan Peterson and Andrew Ritter graduated from FireFighter I at the Montgomery County Public Safety Training Center. This encompassed 188 hours of classroom and practical training that included interior firefighting, exterior firefighting and basic medical training. Firefighter I is the foundational course that all new firefighters complete in order to advance onto other courses in the firefighting field.

Firefighter Peterson and Ritter recently graduated from Conestoga High School and are both residents of Tredyffrin Township. They will be attending college in the fall and will continue to serve the community on breaks and weekends.

The Berwyn Fire Company is one of only 45 fire companies or fire marshal offices in the entire Commonwealth with 100% of its personnel trained to a nationally recognized standard. The PA Office of the State Fire Commissioner has certified Berwyn Fire Company as a Participating Department (4) times since 2005.
