The Berwyn Fire Company was alerted at 8:22 p.m. to a brush fire in the area of Old Eagle School Road and Wallace Drive in Tredyffrin Township.

First arriving personnel discovered a 10' x10' area of brush on fire close to a residence. The fire was quickly extinguished by firefighters and the nearby home was spared any damage. All units were clear of the scene before 9:30 p.m. The fire was accidental in nature and damage was limited to a fence.

Due to the combination of an alert passerby calling 9-1-1 and a two-minute response time out the door of the fire station, a major fire loss was avoided. The homeowner and their closet neighbor had no idea there was a fire until first responders showed up.

The Tredyffrin Township Police Department, along with Berwyn Fire Company Fire Police shut down Old Eagle School Road between Wallace Drive and Wallace Drive so our crews could safely operate.
