COATESVILLE, PA - Four volunteers from Berwyn Fire Company attended the Chester County Department of Emergency Services Junior Public Safety Camp last week. The course was held at the Chester County Public Safety Training Campus located in Coatesville. These volunteers are part of the Conestoga High School contingent that joined the fire company this past year.

The day camp provided classroom and practical training to further the participant's knowledge, skills, and abilities in Firefighting and Emergency Services. This camp covered such topics as: fire safety, basic fire ground operations, practical exercise, fire extinguisher training, and hazardous materials. A trip to Philadelphia was made to tour the Philadelphia International Airport Fire Station and the Philadelphia Fire Department Marine Unit.

Each participant was awarded a certificate for completing the 40 hour course. The Berwyn Fire Company would like to thank all the staff and instructors at the Chester County Department of Emergency Services for their time and efforts in making this program a success.
