Berwyn longtime business member, Kelly Vange, jokes about his start with the Berwyn Fire Company. Over a decade ago he was recruited by former President Rip Tilden who pitched to him the idea of joining the fire company over lunch. That lunch turned into a decade of dedicated service to the residents of Tredyffrin and Easttown Township.

Most notably, Kelly chaired the Fundraising Committee, participated in many fundraising events and handled various other aspects on the administrative side including a stint on the Financial Management Board. This Board provides an avenue for independent oversight and recommendations on larger purchases and budget variances and is part of an overall management structure that is very unique in emergency services.

Unfortunately for Berwyn, but fortunately for Kelly, he will be relocating the state of Montana and thus will be physically leaving the fire company. We would like to thank Kelly for his years of service and we hope that he will visit us soon! Kelly's service is a great example of how an individual can greatly impact the operations of the fire company without ever stepping foot on a fire truck or ambulance.
