BERWYN, PA - As our fellow Americans in Texas and Louisiana continue to deal with the impact of Hurricane Harvey, three of Berwyn's bravest have stepped up to help.

Berwyn Volunteer Firefighter/EMT William 'Bill' King deployed with Team Rubicon USA and landed in Texas late this morning. Bill is assigned to assist with the ongoing water rescue operations in the disaster zone. Team Rubicon unites the skills and experiences of military veterans with first responders to rapidly deploy emergency response teams. Longtime Career Part-Time Firefighter/EMT Anthony 'A.J.' Pizzi and Career Part-Time Firefighter/Paramedic James Herb deployed with the Pennsylvania Disaster Medical Assistance Team (PA-DMAT) earlier this week. This group is able to deploy anywhere in the United States as a fully equipped, self-sufficient, mobile field hospital with a complete medical team including physicians, RNs, respiratory therapists, social workers, EMT and paramedics, pharmacists as well as many logistical, communications and support personnel. Best of luck to Bill, A.J., and James as they contribute to one of the largest disaster responses in U.S. history. As the response transitions to recovery mode many people are asking what they can do to help. You can donate and/or volunteer your time by checking out the links listed below.
