TREDYFFRIN TWP. - As Berwyn EMS crews were handling simultaneous calls this morning, at Penn Medicine at Valley Forge and Life Time Athletic in Tredyffrin Township, firefighters were dispatched at 10:43 a.m. for a trash truck on fire in the 800 block of Old Lancaster Road also in Tredyffrin.

Berwyn Engine 2-2 arrived on scene with a fire in between the cab and the body of the truck. Firefighters quickly extinguished the fire within a few minutes. The driver of the truck was uninjured and utilized a dry chemical fire extinguisher to keep the fire at bay after calling 9-1-1.

The Tredyffrin Township Police Department provided traffic control during the incident. Old Lancaster Road was re-opened in the area within 45 minutes. Abel Brothers Towing and Automotive Inc towed the truck from the scene.
