BERWYN, PA - Berwyn fire/EMS/Fire Police personnel responded to 16 incidents between Tredyffrin and Easttown Townships during a 24 hour period as Winter Storm Quinn brought more snow to the region. Volunteers and career staff staffed several pieces of apparatus, while Berwyn Engine 2-2 and Ambulance 2-1 staged at the Tredyffrin Township Municipal Building from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. This has become a standard practice during significant storm events to minimize response delays, especially in the Chesterbrook and Glenhardie portions of our coverage area.

During the storm the calls responded to included; medical emergencies, motor vehicle collisions, electrical incidents involving power lines, fire alarms, and residential investigations for smoke inside.

As a reminder, if you see power lines down DO NOT go near them. Even if they are not sparking or on fire they could still be energized. If at any time you smell natural gas, see downed power lines on fire or arching, or suspect an unsafe electric or natural gas condition; please leave the area immediately and then call 9-1-1 and PECO at 1-800-841-4141. DO NOT CALL 9-1-1 to tell them your power is out. This is not an emergency!

Thank you to the Tredyffrin and Easttown Township Police and Public Works Departments for their hard work during the storm.
