BERWYN, PA - The National Park Service is conducting the first day of their planned prescribed burn at Valley Forge National Historical Park today. This burn will help with managing invasive species, especially when used in conjunction with other treatments. This burn will conclude tomorrow, Tuesday, April 12th. The total area involved is 150 acres all within the Park.

Berwyn ATV 2 is assisting our federal partners with ensuring the fire does not get out of control. The particular field being burned today involves a section located within Tredyffrin Township, Chester County. Berwyn is one of handful of fire service organizations that help to protect various portions of the 3,500 acres that the Park encompasses.

Thank you to Chief Ranger Michael Valora and Park Ranger/Manager John Waterman for allowing us to participate today.
