BERWYN, PA - Earlier this week, the Berwyn Fire Company presented its monthly report at the Tredyffrin Township Board of Supervisors Public Meeting on April 16, 2018.

Volunteers and career staff responded to 60 fire calls and 123 EMS calls in Tredyffrin Township, while 23 fire calls and 43 EMS calls were handled in Easttown Township. Mutual aid assistance was provided to surrounding municipalities in the amount of 12 fire calls and 9 EMS calls for the month. 14% of the fire responses were classified as false alarms.

The average fire response time (first fire truck arriving on location from dispatch) was 9 minutes and 16 seconds. This includes all fire responses both handled in emergency and non-emergency mode in Tredyffrin, Easttown, and other municipalities. A total of 1,247 personnel responses were also recorded.

The Old Lancaster Road (State Road 1007) over Amtrak Bridge Closure in Tredyffrin Township was also discussed. This project is being managed by the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) in conjunction with Loftus Construction, Inc. Due to its location, careful coordination is necessary with Amtrak. Once Amtrak provides approval the project can get started in May 2018. A minimum two-week public notice will be distributed to ensure everyone is informed of the closure with the exact start date. The closure is anticipated to be in place for 100 days. Stay tuned!
