Berwyn Fire/EMS Respond to Haz-Mat Incident in Tredyffrin Township

TREDYFFRIN TWP., PA - The Berwyn Fire Company has been on the scene since 11:50 a.m. today at a hazardous materials incident involving a gasoline tanker truck at the intersection of West Valley Rd. and Pugh Rd. in Tredyffrin Township. Firefighters and EMS providers are standing by to ensure the safety of the community.

The roadways in the immediate area will be closed for another 2-3 hours as the situation is safely mitigated.

The Chester County Department of Emergency Services Hazardous Materials Team is on scene, along with the Tredyffrin Township Police Department and Tredyffrin Township Public Works Department. Fire police officers from the Paoli Fire Company and the Valley Forge Volunteer Fire Co. are assisting with traffic control.

Please avoid the area and do not go past any traffic barricades. Thank you for your cooperation.

UPDATE @ 4:45 p.m. - The scene has been cleared and all roadways affected are open.
