BERWYN, PA - Congratulations to Berwyn Volunteer Firefighters Ryan Kramer, Matthew Smith-Tucker and Scott Miesen on their graduation from the PA Entry Level Firefighter Program at the Montgomery County Public Safety Training Campus earlier this evening.

Ryan and Scott are both Tredyffrin residents and seniors at Conestoga High School, while Matthew resides in Easttown and is attending his first year of college. These volunteers spent the better part of the year working through the 188 hours of the PA Entry Level Firefighter Program - Firefighter I. This included training in hazardous materials, exterior firefighting, interior firefighting, and First Aid/CPR.

As of November 16, 2018, Berwyn is one of only 39 organizations in the entire Commonwealth of Pennsylvania at the Gold or 100% level in the Pennsylvania Office of the State Fire Commissioner Participating Department Recognition Program. This means that all volunteer and career staff firefighters, over the age of 18, are certified in accordance with nationally recognized and sanctioned Professional Qualifications standards.
