Busy Day for Berwyn Fire/EMS in T-E

BERWYN, PA - Berwyn Fire Company volunteers and career staff have been busy today in Tredyffrin Township and Easttown Township. A total of 13 fire / EMS incidents have been handled, with 5 occurrences of overlapping calls.

After crews had responded to a fire alarm at 5:46 p.m. in the 600 block of E. Swedesford Rd. in Tredyffrin and medical call at 6:01 p.m. in the 1400 block of Lancaster Ave., a motor vehicle collision was dispatched at 6:24 p.m. in the 600 block of W. Swedesford Rd. in Tredyffrin.

First responders arrived to find a head on collision involving two passenger cars. Fire / EMS personnel worked in tandem to treat two injured subjects and also dealt with debris and engine fluids in the roadway. Both victims were transported by Berwyn EMS to Paoli Hospital under advanced life support care.

W. Swedesford Rd. was closed by Berwyn Fire Police between Old Cassatt Rd. and Contention Ln. during the incident. Fire Police from the Paoli Fire Company also assisted with traffic control. The Tredyffrin Township Police Department provided scene control and investigated.

At the height of activity today, volunteers and career staff were responding with (2) ambulances, (3) fire trucks and (2) support vehicles in the Tredyffrin/Easttown community.
