BERWYN, PA – The Berwyn Fire Company is proud to once again be a participating organization with the 28th annual Operation 6abc Save-A-Life fire safety campaign. This effort is being led by 6abc in partnership with Kidde, The Home Depot, local tri-state Toyota dealers, Guardian Protection and area fire departments. During the kick-off earlier this week at the Philadelphia Fire Department Fire Academy, Berwyn firefighters received a generous donation of 10-year lithium battery Kidde smoke alarms.

The Berwyn fire station will serve as a community resource for Tredyffrin-Easttown residents who need a smoke alarm. It is important to have enough smoke alarms in your home. Fire research has demonstrated that with today’s modern furnishings, fires can spread much more rapidly than in the past when more natural materials were used. Because of this, having a sufficient number of properly located smoke alarms is essential to maximize the amount of available escape time.

You can visit the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) website to learn more important fire safety tips at http://www.nfpa.org/smokealarms.

Those residents in need of a smoke alarm are asked to email Fire Chief Eamon Brazunas by email at eamon.brazunas@berwynfireco.org or call 610-644-6050 ext. 16. Please include your home address and best way to reach you.
