BERWYN, PA – The Berwyn Fire Company has been awarded $23,440.47 in grant funding by the Office of the State Fire Commissioner (OSFC) through the 2019 – 2020 Fire Company and Emergency Medical Service Grant Program.
According to the OSFC, this is an annual grant program available for volunteer and career fire companies, emergency medical services and rescue squads. The program provides grant eligibility information and makes an on-line grant application available for all eligible applicants. Based on applicant and project criteria, staff reviews and approves or disapproves all applications, processes signed grant agreements and authorizes dispersal of grant funds. Final grant reports are reviewed for compliance with project description and program guidelines.
The Berwyn Fire Company will be utilizing the fire grant to assist with paying for the apparatus tent structure at the newly established fire/EMS substation in Tredyffrin Township. The EMS grant will go towards the purchase of a replacement EMS response unit.
We appreciate the support of our local State Representatives and State Senators in continuing to support this program that provides vital funds to emergency service providers in the area.
