TREDYFFRIN TWP, PA - On Friday, April 26th at 6:53 p.m. the Berwyn Fire Company was dispatched to the 800 block of Lancaster Ave. in the Devon section of Tredyffrin Township for a SEPTA train that had lost power after making contact with a downed power line. Nearly 500 passengers were on board the train that was headed west during the evening commute.

Fire, EMS, police, and SEPTA officials worked in tandem to get the train evacuated without anyone being injured. E. Conestoga Rd. was closed between Upper Gulph Rd. and Lancaster Ave. to provide train riders with an easy path to walk to awaiting buses and friends or family with rides home.

The Radnor Fire Company provided assistance with train evacuation and traffic control. Fire Police also responded from Paoli and Malvern to aid in traffic control in the area. All first responders cleared the scene before 8:30 p.m.

At the same time this call for help occurred, Berwyn EMS responded to the area of Dorset Rd. and Beaumont Rd. in Easttown Township for a motor vehicle collision.
