BERWYN, PA - Congratulations to Berwyn Fire Company Volunteer Firefighter Tyler Brundage on his graduation from the PA Entry Level Firefighter Program at the Montgomery County Public Safety Training Campus on Wednesday, May 15th.

Tyler is a Tredyffrin Township resident and joined the Company in 2017 while attending Conestoga High School. Tyler spent the better part of the year working through the 188 hours of the PA Entry Level Firefighter Program - Firefighter I. This included training in hazardous materials, exterior firefighting, interior firefighting, incident command system, and First Aid/CPR. Tyler also recently attained his Emergency Medical Technician certification through the Pennsylvania Department of Health.

Tyler’s family has a longstanding record of service to the T-E community, where he serves alongside his father Justin who joined the Company in 1989. This upcoming fall, he will be attending the University of Delaware. Strong work Tyler!

As of 2018, Berwyn is one of only 39 fire service organizations in the entire Commonwealth of Pennsylvania and the only Chester County fire company at the Gold or 100% level in the Pennsylvania Office of the State Fire Commissioner Participating Department Recognition Program. This means that all volunteer and career staff firefighters, over the age of 18, are certified in accordance with nationally recognized and sanctioned professional qualifications standards.
