Driver Critically Injured in Easttown Motor Vehicle Collision

BERWYN, PA – On Tuesday, July 9th at 5:02 a.m., the Berwyn Fire Company was dispatched to a motor vehicle collision in the 400 block of Newtown Road in Easttown Township.

The crews of Berwyn Ambulance 2-1 and Engine 2-2 arrived to find a vehicle that had struck a tree and came to rest on the side of the roadway. The driver was safely removed by rescuers from inside the vehicle and transported by ambulance to Paoli Hospital in critical condition. A passenger, who was able to self-extricate from the car, was evaluated at the scene by EMS personnel.

The Radnor Fire Company assisted at this incident with an advanced life support ambulance. Newtown Road was closed between Sugartown Road and Signal Hill Lane for several hours in order for the Easttown Township Police Department to complete their accident investigation. The road was reopened before 10 a.m.
