Berwyn Firefighters Assist Paoli Fire/EMS at Tredyffrin Twp. House Fire

BERWYN, PA - On Wednesday July 17th at 12:59 a.m., the Berwyn Fire Company was dispatched for an Engine to assist the Paoli Fire Company on a house fire in the 1600 block of Hollyhock Circle in Tredyffrin Township. Mutual aid was also requested from the Valley Forge Volunteer Fire Company, Malvern Fire Company - EMS, and East Whiteland Fire Company.

Berwyn Engine 2-3 responded with a 5-person crew comprised of volunteers and career staff, along with an additional 5 volunteers that responded directly to the scene. First arriving units from Paoli and Berwyn encountered smoke showing from the rear of the house. The homeowners and family dog escaped without injury.

Firefighters worked as a team to ensure the fire was extinguished. There was also a concerted effort to protect personnel belongings and furniture from any damage as crews worked inside and outside the home.

A crew of 8 Berwyn volunteers remained on station in the event other calls came in in the T-E community during the fire. All Berwyn units cleared the scene before 3 a.m. after being released by Paoli Fire Chief Andrea Testa.
