BERWYN, PA - The Berwyn Fire Company was dispatched on Friday, August 2nd at 2:41 p.m. to the area of Manchester Court and Lancaster Avenue in the Berwyn section of Easttown Township for a motor vehicle collision. The Chester County 9-1-1 Center received numerous calls reporting the crash along the busy Lancaster Avenue corridor.

Berwyn EMS arrived on location with a vehicle that had left the roadway striking a fence and tree. The driver and lone occupant was injured and unable to get out of the vehicle. Firefighters arrived and assisted with removing the driver to safety. They also cleaned up debris and stoodby to ensure no oil or gas leaked into nearby storm drains.

The driver was transported by ambulance to Paoli Hospital under advanced life support care. The incident scene was cleared by 3:30 p.m. The Easttown Township Police Department investigated the cause of the collision and were assisted by the Tredyffrin Township Police Department with traffic control.
