BERWYN, PA - The Berwyn Fire Company was dispatched on Saturday, September 21st at 2:08 p.m. to the 900 block of N. Valley Forge Rd. in the Devon section of Tredyffrin Township for a motor vehicle collision.

First arriving fire and EMS crews were met with a crash involving an all-terrain utility vehicle. The Tredyffrin Township Police Department and Berwyn Special Fire Police provided traffic control between Old State Rd. and Devon State Rd.

Firefighters with Berwyn Engine 2-2 assisted with patient care, swept up debris in the roadway, and put down absorbent material due to an oil leak from the car involved. An ambulance from the Radnor Fire Company was also called to assist since Berwyn's second ambulance was committed on an event standby at the Tredyffrin Township Party in the Park.

The driver of the all-terrain utility vehicle suffered serious injuries after being ejected during the collision. The driver of the car was also evaluated for minor injuries. Both were transported by ambulance to Paoli Hospital.

The Tredyffrin Township Police Department investigated the cause of the collision. Both travel lanes of N. Valley Forge Rd. were reopened by 3:15 p.m. This was one of 9 calls handled by volunteers and career staff during a busy Saturday that also included 3 community outreach related events and a training session.
