BERWYN, PA – Berwyn Fire Company is pleased to announce that the Wayne Glen community will provide ongoing financial support for emergency services in Tredyffrin Township, Chester County, Pennsylvania. Arcadia Land Company, a real estate development company based in Philadelphia, has built an annual contribution to Berwyn Fire Company into the assessments of the Wayne Glen homeowner association.

Wayne Glen is located near the intersection of E. Swedesford and Old Eagle School Roads in the Glenhardie section of Tredyffrin Township. This new community of luxury twins and carriage homes is intended to be a model for environmental stewardship including state of the art stormwater management and flood control in the flood-prone Trout Creek watershed.

Wayne Glen will be comprised of two villages of twins and carriage homes totaling 91 residences. The project is scheduled to be completed in 2021.

As a non-profit organization, the Berwyn Fire Company relies on community donations to keep its operations running 24x7. Due to decades of development, increased costs with mostly flat revenues, challenges in insurance medical billing and a decline in volunteerism, there is a significant need for paid staffing. This guaranteed staffing model is important, but also comes at an increased cost to the operating budget and puts pressure on the long-term sustainability of the Company.

The funds generated by Wayne Glen, approximately $55 per household per year, will help to improve response times and overall services to the residents and businesses in and around the northern portion of the coverage area in Tredyffrin Township that includes Old Forge Crossing, Chesterbrook, Glenhardie and the Swedesford corridor.

The volunteers and career staff of the Berwyn Fire Company are committed to providing timely and effective response to fire, medical and rescue emergencies to the residents, businesses and visitors of Tredyffrin and Easttown Townships in accordance with nationally recognized and professional standards.

The Berwyn Fire Company would like to acknowledge Jason Duckworth, President of Arcadia Land Company, for making this unique donation a reality.
