BERWYN, PA - May 17-23, 2020, marks the 46th annual National EMS Week. In 1974, President Gerald Ford authorized EMS Week to celebrate EMS practitioners and the important work they do in our nation's communities. With the entire nation facing the COVID-19 pandemic, now more than ever highlights the importance of having high quality pre-hospital EMS care in your community.

The Berwyn Fire Company (BFC) has taken great strides to adapt and overcome challenges associated with the COVID-19 pandemic. This has involved both administrative and operational changes to ensure services have been uninterrupted to the Tredyffrin-Easttown community.

BFC operates (3) ambulances, (3) fire trucks, and (2) fire/EMS command vehicles that are licensed by the Pennsylvania Department of Health. Between the career staff and volunteers there are 28 Paramedic/PHRNs and 35 EMT/AEMTs that respond to an average of 2,300 medical calls annually.
