BERWYN, PA – On Tuesday, July 21st at 3:54:16 p.m., the Berwyn Fire Company was dispatched to a house fire in the 1400 block of Valley Forge Rd. in Tredyffrin Township. Automatic mutual aid from the Valley Forge Volunteer Fire Company was also requested to the scene.

Berwyn Engine 2-1 arrived at 3:59:06 p.m., 4 minutes and 50 seconds after dispatch, with fire involving a rear deck attached to a single family home. The crew quickly deployed a hoseline to extinguish the fire and also ensured the fire had not extended to the residence.

Berwyn Deputy 2 Justin Brundage placed the fire under control within 10 minutes. No first responders or civilians were injured. The cause of the fire was accidental in nature.

The Tredyffrin Township Police Department provided traffic along Valley Forge Rd. All units were clear of the scene before 5 p.m.

This was a great example of the effectiveness of our substation located at 1100 West Valley Rd., at the intersection of West Valley Rd. and Swedesford Rd. in Tredyffrin Township, in reducing response times and minimizing property loss.
