Berwyn Rescuers Extricate Driver on Rt. 202 in Tredyffrin

BERWYN, PA - The Berwyn Fire Company was dispatched at 8:38 a.m. to Rt. 202 northbound in the area of the Old Eagle School Rd. underpass in Tredyffrin Township for a motor vehicle collision. The initial 9-1-1 caller indicated a single vehicle had flipped in the middle of the highway.

Berwyn Ambulance 2-1 arrived on scene and reported the driver trapped after their vehicle had come back to rest on its wheels after a rollover. Firefighters with Berwyn Engine 2-2 and Engine 2-3 worked together to extricate the driver and sole occupant. After loading the patient into the ambulance, crews swept up debris and stood by until the vehicle could be removed by a tow truck.

The driver was transported by ambulance under advanced life support care to Paoli Hospital in stable condition. The Tredyffrin Township Police Department investigated the cause of the collision. All lanes of Rt. 202 in the area of the crash were reopened by 9:15 a.m.

Shortly after this scene was cleared, Berwyn Ambulance 2-2 responded at 9:20 a.m. to a medical emergency on Beaumont Rd. in Easttown Township.
