Firefighters were back out at 10:08 a.m. to assist the Newtown Square Fire Company with a reported house fire, while one of the EMS crews headed over at 10:26 a.m., at the request of Malvern Fire Company, to provide standby coverage at Radnor Hunt in Willistown Township.

Later on in the afternoon, EMS was dispatched to a medical emergency on Rose Ln. in Tredyffrin at 2:53 p.m., while fire crews were sent to investigate an unattended pile of brush burning in the 500 block of Conestoga Rd. in Tredyffrin at 3:31 p.m. The homeowner was advised to extinguish the fire that was causing a nuisance smoke condition in the neighborhood. Firefighters were dispatched at 4:30 p.m. to the Chesterbook Shopping Center for mulch that was burning near an above ground transformer. The fire was quickly extinguished without further incident.

At 6:47 p.m., crews were sent to check on a tree that had fallen in the 700 block of West Valley Rd. and caused wires to arch and spark near a residence. Firefighters closed West Valley Rd. between Lawerence Ln. and Radcliffe Rd. PECO was notified of the problem and responded to restore power to the area. The final response on Saturday was for a medical call on Cassatt Rd. at 10:35 p.m.

During the overnight hours on Sunday, firefighters responded at 3:12 a.m. to a residential fire alarm activation on Arlington Rd. in Easttown Township. Fortunately no problem was found and all units returned to station. After a quiet morning, firefighters were sent to Valley Stream Village in Chesterbrook for a dumpster fire at 12:16 p.m. The crew of Engine 2-1 quickly responded from the substation and extinguished the fire that was close to a nearby wood frame parking garage. EMS later responded to a medical emergency at 12:53 p.m. in the Oak Knoll townhouse development.

After clearing the Oak Knoll EMS call at 1:46 p.m., Berwyn EMS -- Ambulance 2-2 and Fire Police -- Utility 2 assisted the Paoli Fire Company with a motor vehicle collision at Rt. 252 and E. Central Ave. in Tredyffrin Township. Several subjects were transported to Paoli Hospital as a result of this crash that caused a major traffic issue in the area. On the way back to the station at 2:27 p.m., Ambulance 2-2 handled a medical emergency at Daylesford Crossing on Lancaster Ave.

Shortly after at 2:56 p.m., fire and EMS units were alerted to a injured person on the train tracks behind the 100 block of Devonwood Rd. in Easttown Twp. Personnel from both the main station and substation responded to this incident. A subject was located on the tracks after falling at the old Valley Forge Rd. bridge. Rescuers worked diligently to treat and remove the subject from the tracks to the awaiting ambulance. Due to the severity of injuries, PennStar medical helicopter was requested to the scene and landed at the nearby Devon Horse Show Grounds in the Dorset Rd. parking lot. The subject was airlifted to St. Christopher's Hospital for Children in life-threatening condition. Radnor Fire Company EMS and Radnor Fire Company Chief Officers also assisted at this call.
