BERWYN, PA - The Berwyn Fire Company was dispatched at 10:56 a.m. to the intersection of E. Swedesford Rd. and Valley Forge Rd. in Tredyffrin Township for a motor vehicle collision.

The crew of Berwyn MICU 102, based out of the substation, was quickly on scene and confirmed a two-vehicle crash with one of the drivers requiring extrication. They also reported at least 2-3 subjects requiring medical attention. Based on this information, an additional ambulance from the Paoli Fire Company was requested to the scene.

Rescuers with Berwyn Engine 2-2 worked diligently to remove the most seriously injured victim. This included stabilizing the vehicle that had run off the roadway into a ditch and then using rescue tools to open the drivers door.

Berwyn MICU 102 and Ambulance 2-3 each transported a patient to Paoli Hospital in stable condition, while Paoli MICU 3-1 also did the same.

The on ramp to Rt. 202 South from Valley Forge Rd. was closed for the duration of the incident. The Tredyffrin Township Police Department provided traffic control and also investigated the cause of the collision. All units were clear of the scene by 12 Noon.
