Berwyn Fire/EMS units were dispatched at 9:46 a.m. to Berkley Rd. and Lancaster Ave. in Tredyffrin Township for a motor vehicle collision with entrapment.

Berwyn Captain Brazunas arrived on location and reported a two-vehicle crash, with one victim requiring extrication from their overturned vehicle. Berwyn Chief Norris arrived and established Incident Command, while personnel began their rescue work.

The crew of Engine 2-2 used the Holmatro hydraulic rescue tools to safely extricate the driver from their car. The 'Junkyard Dog' Rescue Struts were also utilized to stabilize the car so it would not move during the rescue effort. The victim was transported to a local trauma center by Ambulance/Medic 2-1.

Berwyn fire apparatus remained on the scene until 10:30 a.m. as the Tredyffrin Township Police Department conducted their investigation. Traffic was detoured around the accident scene, while first responders handled the rescue.
