BERWYN, PA - The volunteers and career staff of the Berwyn Fire Company were kept busy this past Saturday with 17 calls dispatched in less than 20 hours. This included several fire responses for reported smoke in the structure investigations, a couple motor vehicle collisions, and numerous medical emergencies in the T-E community. There were also two mutual aid EMS requests between Radnor Twp. and East Whiteland Twp. The Radnor Fire Company and Paoli Fire Company assisted with a smoke in the building incident at the Devon Village Shopping Center in the 800 block of Lancaster Ave. in Tredyffrin Twp. just after 8 a.m. After a thorough check of the Fine Wine & Spirits and Whole Foods, it was determined that there was a problem with a heating unit on the roof of the shopping center. The smoke was cleared from the building with the use of fans. The main station and substation crews were able to hustle throughout the day and get all of the calls handled in a timely manner.
