BERWYN, PA - The Berwyn Fire Company was dispatched at 4:53 a.m. for an electrical fire inside a home in the 400 block of Cassatt Rd. in Tredyffrin Township.

While enroute Berwyn Engine 2-3 upgraded the call to a house fire response bringing mutual aid from the Paoli Fire Company, Radnor Fire Company and Newtown Square Fire Company to the scene. First arriving crews located a fire in the attic space that was quickly extinguished. The fire is believed to have been caused by an electrical issue.

The Tredyffrin Township Police Department provided traffic control by closing Cassatt Rd. between Greene Rd. and Howellville Rd. There were no reported first responder or civilian injuries.

Fortunately the homeowners evacuated after smelling smoke in their house and quickly called 9-1-1. All personnel and units cleared the scene by 6 a.m.
