BFC Responds to 20 Calls During Rainy Weekend |

BERWYN, PA - After a hectic end to September, the opening weekend of October kept Berwyn fire/EMS personnel responding to numerous calls in the T-E community. A total of 20 calls were handled, which included a mutual call for an ambulance to standby at West Whiteland Fire Company on Saturday evening. This special request occurred due to multiple EMS units being tied up on calls in the central and western parts of the County. EMS teams provided basic life support and advanced life support during (13) incidents, while firefighters responded to a public service call for a flooded basement, (2) outside electrical fires involving power lines, (4) fire alarms and (2) motor vehicle collisions. Late Saturday night, crews were dispatched to Contention Lane in Tredyffrin Township for a motor vehicle collision with reported entrapment. Berwyn Engine 2-2, Utility 2, Ambulance 2-2, MICU 102 and Paoli Fire Company MICU 3-3, along with the Tredyffrin Township Police Department and Easttown Township Police Department responded to the scene. Unfortunately one of the two occupants was killed in this single vehicle crash. The other occupant was transported for evaluation by ambulance to Paoli Hospital. The Berwyn Fire Company sends its condolences to the family, friends and community impacted by this tragedy.
