Berwyn Fire/EMS Respond to 22 calls Prior to Midweek, Passenger Extricated from Rt. 202 Crash |

BERWYN, PA - The Berwyn Fire Company was alerted on Monday, October 10th at 10:28 a.m. for a motor vehicle collision on Route 202 North near the Devon Park Drive Exit in Tredyffrin Township. The initial 9-1-1 report indicated that two-vehicles were involved, along with at least one injured subject. At the time of dispatch, fire/EMS crews were visiting a local school on Walker Rd. in the Township for fire prevention week. Engine 2-2 and MICU 102 promptly responded, along with Engine 2-3 from the main station. MICU 102 arrived first on scene and had a passenger stuck in the car after impacting a flatbed truck. Rescuers worked diligently to remove the passenger side door with rescue tools in a matter of minutes. The off ramp to Devon Park Drive was closed and one lane to Interstate 76 East was restricted in the incident area to allow responders to operate safely. Roadway operations returned to normal by 11:15 a.m. The patient was transported by ambulance to Paoli Hospital, while the two drivers did not require medical attention. The Tredyffrin Township Police Department provided scene control and investigated the cause of the collision.
