BERWYN, PA - The Berwyn Fire Company was dispatched at 3:01 p.m. for a motor vehicle collision in the 1300 block of Berwyn Paoli Rd. in Easttown Township.

First arriving crews encountered a pickup truck that had flipped onto its roof after striking a utility pole. The driver was able to crawl out, but was injured.

As EMS tended to the driver, the crews of Engine 2-1 and Engine 2-2 secured the scene and dealt with fluids leaking from equipment that flew out of the truck bed.

The driver was transported by ambulance to Paoli Hospital with minor injuries.

The Easttown Township and Tredyffrin Township Police Departments provided traffic control and investigated the cause of the crash.

All units cleared the scene by 4:30 p.m.

The roadway remains closed between Country Rd. and Foxall Rd. as PECO works to repair the damaged pole. This is expected to take several hours.

As the call on Berwyn Paoli Rd was still active, Berwyn EMS responded to a medical emergency in the Chesterbrook section of Tredyffrin Township at 4:04 p.m. and also assisted the Radnor Fire Company with a motor vehicle collision at 4:08 p.m. in the area of Abrahams Ln. and Newtown Rd. in Radnor Township.
