BERWYN, PA - The Berwyn Fire Company was recently notified by U.S. Representative Chrissy Houlahan of being one of 15 community projects in the Pennsylvania 6th Congressional District that is being considered for funding support by the House Appropriations for the Fiscal Year 2024.

Berwyn Fire Company officials in collaboration with Tredyffrin and Easttown Townships have been working diligently to plan out the construction of a new main fire/EMS station in Berwyn that will replace an existing building that dates back to 1929 -- 94 years! This long overdue project will provide a safe and functional public safety space that can support the operations of the Company. In 2022, Berwyn first responders handled 3,350 fire and EMS calls for assistance in the community.

According to Houlahan, “This funding is vital to our community, and I am proud to have secured millions of dollars in Community Project Funding for Berks and Chester Counties in previous years. I am excited to announce the 15 Community Projects I’ve submitted for the Fiscal Year 2024 budget that, if selected, will update community spaces, improve educational programs, and ensure our communities are protected. Thank you to all our organizations who have submitted requests for incredible projects, I will do everything in my power to secure funding for these impactful projects and continue to help our community.”

“The Berwyn Fire Company is humbled to be selected as a priority community project in the Pennsylvania 6th Congressional District by Rep. Houlahan and her non-partisan panel of community leaders. We have been creative as an organization to fund our fire/EMS infrastructure project by applying for state and federal grants, fundraising and obtaining critical municipal support from Tredyffrin and Easttown Townships. Our dedicated volunteers and staff look forward to working in a safe and modern facility to support our 24x7 operations for years to come,” said Eamon Brazunas, Assistant Chief of Berwyn Fire Company.
