BERWYN, PA - May 21-27, 2023, marks the 49th annual National EMS Week. In 1974, President Gerald Ford authorized EMS Week to celebrate EMS practitioners and the important work they do in our nation's communities. This year's theme is EMS: Where Emergency Care Begins.
The importance of having high quality pre-hospital EMS care in the T-E community is central to the mission of the Berwyn Fire Company (BFC). BFC continues to take great strides to adapt and overcome challenges in partnership with elected officials and staff members in Tredyffrin and Easttown Townships.
BFC operates (4) ambulances, (3) fire trucks, and (2) fire/EMS command vehicles between two stations that are licensed by the Pennsylvania Department of Health. Between the career staff and volunteers there are 28 Paramedic/PHRNs and 35 EMT/AEMTs that responded to 2,470 calls in 2022.
Please look for activity on our social media and website during the week highlighting our dedicated personnel and lifesaving equipment.
