BERWYN, PA - On Monday, February 5th at 10:14 a.m., the Berwyn Fire Company was dispatched to Blackburn Drive in Easttown Township for a fall victim. At the same time an EMS crew was handling a medical emergency at the Trinity House Apartments.

Berwyn EMS Lt. 2-21 arrived on scene and reported an injured subject on the roof. Firefighters from Berwyn were requested to assist, along with the ladder truck from the Paoli Fire Company. Due to access challenges with the ladder truck, the Chester County Rescue Taskforce (CCRTF) was also dispatched.

The ambulance crew of Berwyn MICU 102 began to assess the patient as rescuers organized the best method to remove them off of the roof. A rope system and 35 foot ground ladder was setup to safely aid the subject to the ground. EMS evaluated them and they were transported to an area hospital via private vehicle. The rescue was completed at 11:08 a.m.

All units went available from this incident by 11:30 a.m. The East Whiteland Fire Company, Fame Fire Company No. 3 (West Chester) and Lionville Fire Company responded with assets as part of the CCRTF. The Easttown Township Police Department provided scene control.
