BERWYN, PA - On Sunday, April 7th, Berwyn career staff and volunteers handled 8 fire/EMS calls in the Tredyffrin-Easttown community and provided a mutual aid response to Upper Merion Township for a cardiac arrest victim.

At 6:40 p.m., Berwyn first responders were alerted for a motor vehicle collision involving a motorcycle on Rt. 202 North between W. Swedesford Rd. and Chesterbrook Blvd. in Tredyffrin Township.

Berwyn MICU 102 arrived on location with a motorcyclist down in the roadway with multiple injuries. The crew worked quickly to assess the patient and get them safely loaded into the ambulance. They were subsequently transported to Paoli Hospital in serious condition.

Rt. 202 North was temporarily closed at the W. Swedesford Rd. off ramp to allow for a safe operating area and the Tredyffrin Township Police Department to investigate.

On Monday, April 8th, Berwyn personnel were back it with 9 fire/EMS calls responded to in the T-E community between 5:43 a.m. and 8:22 p.m.

As firefighters had just cleared an outside electrical fire in the 900 block of Cloverly Rd. in Tredyffrin Township, a motor vehicle collision was reported at 8:22 p.m. in the 1400 block of Argyle Road in Easttown Township. The 9-1-1 caller reported a car had flipped over after striking a parked car on the street.

Ambulance 2-3 arrived to find the driver trapped with minor injuries. The crew of Engine 2-1 worked in tandem with EMS to free the driver by removing a door with rescue tools. The driver was wearing a seatbelt, which allowed them to escape serious injury.

The driver was transported by ambulance to Paoli Hospital to be evaluated.

The Easttown Township Police Department investigated the cause of the crash and provided traffic control. Paoli Fire Company EMS also provided assistance at the scene.
